This official VW plate, part number 251 413 431, sits on top of the upper shock bushing on the front shock absorber of every Vanagon. All aftermarket shocks come with incorrectly sized bushings and plates that cause noise and are not good for the shock. Always use an official VW upper shock bushing and plate. It fits 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992 models.
