This KYB shock absorber, part number 345006, is for the front of a 2wd Vanagon. KYB offers a firmer ride than original or Bilstein shocks. This shock pairs well with stock springs, but with stiffer replacement springs may be too harsh. You should discard the upper shock bushing and plate that come with any aftermarket shock, as they aren't suitable for use on a Vanagon. We carry the correct front shock upper bushing which should always be replaced with the shock, and front shock plate if its damaged or the incorrect one was previously installed. It fits 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992 models.
