This official VW o-ring, part number 861 819 297, seals the heater valve to the rear heater core on an 83-92 Vanagon with a water-boxer engine. We have been using the VW version for many years due to high-quality and the importance of this gasket. Currently the original heater valve is not available, so if you have a metal replacement valve this gasket will not work for you. It fits 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992 models.
